Frequently Asked Questions
This section provides answers on questions that are frequently asked. We've delineated the sections by catagories: Theological questions (e.g., can a Christian be demon possessed, Administrative questions (e.g., how do I make an appointment) or Personal (e.g., how do I know if I am being influenced by an evil spirit). If you don't find your answer here, feel free to contact us and ask.
Theological Questions:
Can a Christian be demon possessed?
The word used for demon-possessed implies the loss of free will so in that respect we do not believe Christians can be demon-possessed. The words translated as demon-possessed in the scriptures means under the influence. We prefer to use the word demonized. In the cases where Jesus confronted demons in folks that were highly under the influenced of demons to the extent that the amount of their free will is questionable. Likely these folks were suffering from both a mental illness and were strongly demonized. We do believe that un-repented sin, unresolved anger or bitterness, lies about ourselves from deceitful spirits that we have come to agreement with, critical judgements and curses we've made against ourselves and others are some of the ways we have allowed an enemy spirit to have a stronghold within us. Submitting to a known or unknown spirit through the occult is probably the most obvious. For more on this question read Dr. Kraft's books: I Give You Authority, 2 Hrs to Freedom or Spiritual Warfare
Can you break a demonic stronghold peacefully?
Yes! When we pray for folks we always partner with and rely upon the Holy Spirit to take us where we need to go. We ask the Holy Spirit to reveal un-repented sin, lies of the enemy we have agreed with, anyone we have not forgiven and this includes ourselves - this part of our prayer is done first. It is the inner healing of the soul or heart. We invite Jesus to be the Lord of these areas in our lives. When we submit these areas of darkness under his Lordship - Jesus cleanses his Temple and we are a Temple of his Holy Spirit. Dr. Kraft uses the metaphor of taking out the trash of a rat infested home. Once the trash is removed the rats leave - they have nothing to feed on and will flee from any exposure to the Lord.
Jesus confrontation with an evil spirit was loud and aggressive. How can your approach be peaceful?
When Jesus was confronting evil spirits the Spirit of God resided solely in him. He was the Temple of the Living God. After his death and resurrection he sent his Holy Spirit to dwell within his disciples, which now includes us. His indwelling Spirit in each of us makes each of us a Temple of the God so we only need to let Jesus into those spaces where we have not relinquished control of our will. This was not available before before his resurrection. If we were to cast out an evil spirit from someone who was not submitted to Jesus or with a believer who has not submitted the part of their will wherein the evil spirit had established a stronghold, the confrontation would be more violent.
"Inner Healing" is not in the Bible, so what is the biblical basis for it?
It is true that the phrase "Inner Healing" is not in the Bible. What is in the Bible is the word "transform or transformation" and "renewal or renewing" (see Rom 12 :1-2 as a good example). This theme is expressed throughout Paul's letters. We use the term Inner Healing to describe the transformational process of being renewed in the inner person (heart, mind, will and emotions).

Administrative Questions:
How do I make a prayer appointment?
Find the "resources" tab on the main menu bar. It is a drop-down menu from where you should select "forms". That will take you to the forms page where you can down load and fill out the "personal history questionnaire". Once that is complete, email to any one of us under the "contact" tab. Once we receive the completed questionnaire, we will review it and contact you to set up an appointment. Most of our ministry is done virtually over zoom. In person may be available if you live in and around the Southern California area.
How much does it cost to receive prayer?
We do not charge for our prayer sessions. No one is refused prayer for financial reason. We do are grateful for those who choose to donate to support our mission to bring inner healing, deliverance and transformation to the nations.
Can you come to my Church to conduct a workshop?
Yes - We can come to you to conduct workshops, but I would also recommend doing a virtual workshop. The costs associated with travel and lodging makes the in-person workshops more expensive. We do ask the host to cover the travel, lodging and material costs for the workshops. We do not charge for labor. Our goal is to freely give away everything that Jesus has given us.
What is the cost for a workshop?
This is variable depending upon the distance and cost required for our team members to travel. Typically we like to send two people to conduct the workshops. We are not doing this for profit. For virtual workshops we do charge a nominal registration fee of $200. That fee is simply there to ensure you are committed to attending the workshop as we are in providing it. That fee may be waived based upon financial considerations but always requires a sincere commitment to attend all sessions of the workshop. If you are interesting in hosting a workshop either virtually or onsite please contact us to explore options.

Personal Questions:
How do I know if I am being influenced by an evil spirit?
Any one of us can be influenced by an evil spirit - the key is understanding the tactics of the enemy (2 Cor 2:11). The apostle Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God - because we need it (Eph 6:10-17). Paul talks about how he was tormented by a messenger of Satan (2 Cor 12:7-10). Understanding spiritual warfare and how to discern the schemes of the enemy should be a part of the inner healing and transformation journey for all of us.
How can I become a Isaiah 61 Life Ministries team member?
A good place to start is to take our Transformed Workshop and go through the process of Inner Healing and Deliverance Prayer for yourself and also to lead one or more sessions. Then dialogue with us so we can discern your gifts, talents and abilities to serve. You should know that none of us have an income through Isaiah 61 Life Ministries so please understand that constraint.
What can I expect after receiving prayer?
The response for each recipient is not the same. Most people feel a sense of release and an emotional high somewhat like a retreat mountain top experience if you've ever done that. The key is understanding that your experience is the start of the journey towards greater freedom and intimacy with Jesus. It is a journey. You will come down a bit but if you keep at it, you will experience successive higher peaks with longer durations.
